What we do
Craigerne Accountancy offers fixed-fee accountancy services for individuals, sole traders and limited companies. Limited company accounts start from £400 for low-turnover businesses, while Self Assessment tax returns start from £199.
Our services include company accounts, corporation tax returns, Self Assessment tax returns, VAT returns, bookkeeping, payroll, Making Tax Digital (MTD) support and wider business advice. We also help you choose, set up and get the most from accounting software, making bookkeeping easier, reducing manual admin and giving you a clearer view of your finances. Whether you want to manage your own records with our guidance or have us look after the bookkeeping for you, we can tailor our support to suit.
While based in Peebles in the Scottish Borders, we work with clients across Scotland and the UK. As a member firm of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS), we adhere to the highest professional and ethical standards, giving you confidence that your finances are in safe hands.

Chartered Accountant
The Chartered Accountant designation is your assurance that we understand financial accounting. The ICAS designation is one of the most popular and trusted designations for practicing accountants. Member firms are subject to regular reviews and visits to ensure that the highest standards are met. They are also required to obtain sufficient insurance coverage to cover all likely outcomes.
This does not mean that an unqualified accountant is not capable of doing the work involved, there are plenty of very good accountants out there who have not been through the examination system. However, if you are unsure when comparing which accountant to use, the designation should at least give confidence that a chartered accountant can do the work. There is also the added benefit that if you need to provide accounts for the bank the chartered accountant can provide the necessary accountants certificate.
